Zoran Erić completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Music Academy in Belgrade where he studied with Stanojlo Rajičić.

His opus comprises compositions of different genres written for various ensembles and soloists. Some of the most prominent pieces are ballets Banović Strahinja and Jelisaveta, Off for double bass and strings, Cartoon for strings and harpsichord, Talea Konzertstück for violin and strings, The Great Red Spot of Jupiter for amplified harpsichord, percussions and live electronics, The Abnormal Beats of Dogon for bas/bassoon, piano, percussions, bass harmonica and live electronics, Helium in a small box for strings, I didn’t talk, for alt saxophone, bass harmonica, narrator and mixed choir, Oberon for flute and instrumental ensemble, Six Scenes – Comments for three violins and string orchestra, Who Killed Seagull, for 12 cellos, Seven Views at the Sky, for string sextet, etc.

His  compositions  have  been  performed  by  various  Serbian  and  foreign  ensembles,  such  as Belgrade String Orchestra Dušan Skovran, St. George Strings, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Kreisler Strings, Zagreb Soloists, 12 cellisten der Berliner Philharmoniker, Camerata Serbica, Belgrade Philharmonics. He collaborated with the most important performers in artists in the country and abroad, among them with Živojin Zdravković, Pavle Dešpalj, Uroš Lajovic, Aleksandar Pavlović, Bojan Suđić, Darinka Matić-Marović, David Takeno, So-Ock Kim, Malachi Robinson, Ion Bogdanesku, Marija Špengler, Arisa Fujita, Nebojša Ignjatović, Miloš Petrović, Emanuelle Pahud, Ljubiša Jovanović… his compositions were performed in almost all European countries, USA, China and Australia. Erić is also a prolific author of theatre and film music. He has collaborated with our most prominent theatre artists Dejan Mijač, Vida Ognjenović, Nikita Milivojević, Gorčin Stojanović, Boro Drašković, Egon Savin, Milan Karadžić, Nebojša Bradić, Sonja Vukićević, among others, and he has also written music scores for Serbian movies Ubistvo sa predumišljajem, Stršljen, Senke uspomena.

Ha has been awarded October Prize of the City of Belgrade, YUSTAT Grand Prix for theatre music, Gold Medal of the University of Arts in Belgrade, Mokranjac Prize (twice), Golden Mimosa for film music (twice), Sterija Prize for theatre music… He held international master classes and lectures on Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and Iressia in Athens. He is professor and Chief of composition and Orchestration Department at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
