Božo Banović (1963, Serbia) graduated from the composition classes of Rajko Maksimović and Vlastimir Trajković at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. His works have been performed at previous Reviews of Composers in Belgrade, the festivals Obzorja na Tisi (Mornings on the Tisa) in Novi Bečej, Guitar Open Festival in Subotica, as well as in Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Russia, Australia, and the US. He also teaches and performs as a piano accompanist.

The piece Odmrzavanje (Thawing) for two violins and piano was written in late winter of 2013. Its title is meant to capture the work’s rising sense of activity.
