Lazar Đorđević (1992, Kragujevac) began studying composition at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in 2010, under the supervision of Prof. Zoran Erić. He finished bachelor and master studies with highest grades. He is currently in his final year of the PhD studies in composition at the same institution.

Đorđević has also pursued further specialization abroad, attending composition workshops led by composers such as Peter Ablinger, Vinko Globokar, Stephen McNeff, Sidney Corbett, Johannes Kretz, Yann Robin… Works by Lazar Đorđević have been performed multiple times in Serbia and abroad. He have been participated in many festivals such as Rostrum, Review of Composers, Rossifest, Koma, Festum, Oktoh… His compositions were premiered by famous Serbian ensembles RTS symphony orchestra, Construction site ensemble, Camerata Academica, ensemle Metamorphosis… Đorđević had successful colaborations with Serbian performers especially with violoncellist Nemanja Stanković and violist Saša Mirković.

In addition to his own compositions, a number of Đorđević’s orchestrations of pieces by other authors as well as his works in domain of applied music have also been performed.

For composition titled Jednom sam negde čuo…(I Once Heard, Somewhere…) Đorđević won first prize at the Euphonia International Festival of Accordion in 2016. He also won the 2015 Stevan Hristić Award and 2017 Josip Slavenski Award. He composed the first concerto for accordion and orchestra by a Serbian composer, which was premiered in 2017 in Novi Sad.

Music production RTS chosed two Đorđević’s compositions for symphony orchestra Reminiscence and Anastasis at the composers competition in 2017. and 2019. Anastasis for symphony orchestra was premiered in February 2019. Đorđević won special prize for composition 21. october at the Portrait and Remembrance Competition of 2021 Rossifest. Composition D-Madness presented Serbia at the 67. International Rostrum of Composers held in Belgrade 2021.

Đorđević is currently employed as a teaching assistant at the Composition Department of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
