About the piece

Trillium explores chord permutations in a cyclical four-chord progression to create a neverending generative soundscape. Three note patterns and triple rhythm which drive the work, give the piece its title, inspired by eponymous perennial herb growing from rhizomes, having flowers with three petals. The work aims to find unexplored possibilities, new meaning and feeling in traditional consonant harmonies and familiar sound textures.
