Predrag Radisavljević obtained his Bachelor and Master of Music Degree in Composition, under the mentorship of Branka Popović, at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. He completed his bachelor and master’s studies at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Department of Accordion under supervision of Miljan Bjeletić. He also obtaned Master’s degree in Music Production (Classical Music) at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Currently, he is pursuing doctoral studies in Composition at the Faculty of Music as well as doctoral studies in Digital Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade. Since 2020, he has worked as a teaching associate at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, and since 2022, he has been a teaching assistant in the Department of Composition of the same faculty, at the Music Production study program.
He is the recipient of the “Josip Slavenski” award for his composition The Three Little Pigs, a chamber opera for narrator, bass, three sopranos, and chamber orchestra. His piece Schizophrenia for cello and accordion received a recommendation at the 69th International Rostrum of Composers organized by the IRC – The International Music Council, held in 2023 in The Hague, Netherlands. Schizophrenia was premiered at the International Review of Composers (Belgrade, Serbia) in 2022. As a composer and orchestrator, Radisavljević has collaborated with the Schlesinger Chamber Orchestra, Niš City Symphony Orchestra, Akkordeonorchester Unterpfaffenhofen Munich, Montenegrini Chamber Orchestra, Kragujevac Academic Accordion Orchestra, Vlatko Stefanovski, Nemanja Stanković, Anima Chamber Trio, Ramonda Serbica Chamber Quartet, Art Family Ensemble. His works have been performed in Serbia, Spain, Qatar, Slovakia, Canada, Austria, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Slovenia.
About the piece
Kulshedra for female voice, accordion, and live electronics is inspired by Albanian mythology. The composition features extended instrumental techniques. The sound is processed live, and the acoustic sound of the accordion and voice is not heard by the audience. The piece was created as part of the project #synergy – Sharpening the capacities of the classical music industry in the Western Balkans.
