Božo Banović (1963, Serbia) graduated from the Department of Composition and Orchestration at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade (studied with Rajko Maksimović and Vlastimir Trajković). His pieces were performed at the previous International Review of Composers, at the festivals Obzorja na Tisi in Novi Bečej, Guitar Open festival in Subotica, as well as in Slovenia, Italy, RSA and Russia. For pedagogical purposes he has made arrangements of music of different stylistic epochs for school orchestras, which have been performed across the country. Banović performs as a piano accompanist.

Not-too-shiny sea (Ne-suviše-blistavo more) for oboe, cello and harp. Having started work on the new piece, I had a very vague idea at first, which, due to certain delays and unfavourable circumstances, kept presenting itself at the early stage of work as a series of randomly arranged images of weak structural coherence. The name Not-too-shiny sea quickly imposed itself as the reflection of an unrealized ideal.
