Rastko Popović (1983, Serbia) completed his viola studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, and at the University of Stavanger (Norway). He teaches at the course Methodology of Teaching String Instruments at the Faculty of Music, and he is a professor of viola at the Music School „Josip Slavenski.” Popović performs viola, chamber and orchestral repertoire, and he is committed to historically informed interpretations of the 17th and 18th century music with the Ensemble Belgrade Baroque. In 2006 he started working on his project entitled I’m my own merry-go-round dedicated to the electric viola as a contemporary musical medium. Currently he is at the final year of his PhD studies at the University of Arts, Faculty of Music in Belgrade, in the class of Dejan Mlađenović.
