Klara Tomljanovič, guitar, Luka Juhart, accordion, Uroš Rojko, clarinet

Trio Quo vadis was founded in 2009, for the purpose of performing and promoting primarily contemporary music.

Klara Tomljanovič studied in Freiburg with Prof. Sonja Prunnbauer and in Basel with Prof. Oscar Ghiglia. She lives in Karlsruhe and Ljubljana. Since her student days, she has been a member of the Aleph Guitar Quartet, a renowned ensemble for new music, with whom for 14 years she performed at many important festivals of contemporary music in Europe and Asia: the Musikprotokoll (Graz), Musica viva (Munich), the Pan Festival (Seoul), Warsaw Autumn, World Music Days, etc. She collaborates with the ensembles Slowind and Mozaik, with the Academy established by the famous Ensemble Modern, with the Slovene Philharmonic, Slovene Radio Orchestra, Radio Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra, and numerous soloists (Teodoro Anzellotti, Isao Nakamura, Petra Hoffmann, Uroš Rojko…).

Luka Juhart studied at the Trossingen University of Music with Professor Hugo Noth. Afterwards, he completed his graduate studies in 2008 at the University of Music Würzburg with Professor Stefan Hussong. Since the beginning of his career he has collaborated with many composers, especially from Slovenia (Uroš Rojko, Vinko Globokar), commissioning new works and establishing creative dialogues with them; so far, solo and in various ensembles, he has premièred over 40 pieces. His solo albums Dialog/Dialogue and Deconstructing Accordion are another product of his collaborations.

Juhart has attended specialist master-classes for early music, while at the same time he is also interested in free improvisation and the unpredictable situations and risks that come with it. He has performed at major European festivals and collaborated with well-known orchestras, including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. Juhart has given lectures and master-classes across Europe and taught at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana since 2012.

Uroš Rojko studied composition with Professor Uroš Krek and clarinet with Professor Alojz Zupan at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and in 1995 began teaching composition there. Many years ago, Rojko abandoned his erstwhile lively concert career (in 1975, among other things, he had been a fellow and clarinetist of the Slovene Philharmonic), only to return to his instrument several years ago, playing in various chamber ensembles. He has performed with renowned American trombonist Mike Svoboda and Swiss and German accordionists Hugo Noth and Stefan Hussong. He also often performs in duos with the remaining two members of Trio Quo vadis, Klara Tomljanovič and Luka Juhart. Performing contemporary music is an important element in his concert activities.
