Kim Helweg (1956, Denmark) is one of the most famous Danish composers.

His opus comprises works for solo instruments and chamber ensembles, as well as operas, scenic musical compositions and theater music.

Blue Edge for two pianos (1994) is based on the blues samples, representing a tribute to the original blues “tone” of its kind – a straightforward expression of sorrow and grief. Among other things, it is achieved through the use of a few blues quotes. A dramatic tie begins with the evocation of cotton fields, and later on, the musical flow moves to a sonic landscape of a town, striving for the end itself, when the atonality and chromatic scales disintegrate the blues model.
