Concertante Chamber Orchestra of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Niš was founded along with the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Serbia; its members comprise students and alumni of the Faculty of Arts. Most prominently, its rich concert activities include dozens of full-evening concerts in the region, as well as appearances at festivals in Greece (2009), Ischia and Sorrento in Italy (2010), and Naissus Guitar Festival in Niš (2011). In 2012, the Orchestra was named the laureate of the Eurochestries Festival in Moscow. Concertanteperformed at NIMUS in 2012, 2014, and 2015, and participated in the 2014 Boljšoj Festival of Russian Music in Mokra Gora, Serbia. In November 2016, Concertanteperformed as part of Podijum kamerne muzike (Chamber Music Rostrum), a concert cycle organised by Belgrade’s Kolarac Endowment. This year should see the release of their first CD, an edition of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. The Orchestra’s main artistic collaborator is Dragiša Balanesković, violinist and associate professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš. The conductor and artistic leader of the Orchestra is Prof. Milena Injac.
