Hideki Kozakura (Japan) leads a professional life both as a pianist and a composer. Selected prizes for his pieces include the Japan Symphonic Prize, Nagoya Cultural Promotion Prize, equal first Prize Takemitsu Composition Competition, scholarships and a research grant from the Nomura-Foundation, as well as the Agency for Cultural Affairs Performing Arts Prize, the Berlin Culture and Science Prize, and several awards piano competitions.

Dvě sovy (Two Owls) – Composed on Petr Borkovec’s poem and premiered by the Czech singer Miroslava Časarová in Prague 2009 in a part of the Klangnetz concert series. I was so inspired by his masterfully intricate words!
