Ivan Vukosavljević (1986, Serbia/Netherlands) studied composition at the Univeristy of Arts (Faculty of Music) in Belgrade and at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
His music has been performed in Europe and the USA by ensembles such as: Ensemble Klang (NL), Kluster5 (NL), Orkest de Ereprijs (NL), Stargaze (DE), ConTempo String Quartet (IRL), Ensemble Metamorphosis (SRB), LP Duo (SRB), Emulsion Quartet (UK), N A S Duo (UK), etc.; and at events and festivals such as: Gaudeamus Muziekweek
(NL) (GM 2018 – premiere of a new work co-commissioned by Orkest de Ereprijs and Gaudeamus; GM 2017 – Nominated for the Gaudeamus award; GM 2016 Nominated for Tera de Marez Oyens prize), ICon Arts (RO) (Winner of the commission prize), MISE-EN Festival (USA), Rewire Festival (NL), Gaudeamus Sessie #18 (NL) (for which Gaudeamus commissioned a new work), Listenpony (UK) (winner of the commission prize), Lucerne Festival (CH), Cheltenham Music Festival (UK), International review of Composers (SRB), Young Composers Meeting in Apel-doorn (NL), etc. His future projects include a new work commissioned by Gaudeamus Muziekweek for Ensemble Klang and a new work for Saskia Laankhorn and New European Ensemble to be commissioned by Dag in de Brandig festival both to be premiered in 2019.
Ghost for bass clarinet and vibraphone
The piece was commissioned by the Listenopy festival and premièred in London in 2017, with an additional performance at the Lucerne Festival in 2018, in Switzerland.
